   8. How to convert old DOS text files to Windows text files (OEM to ANSI converter).

Current tutorial shows how to convert old DOS text files to ANSI format understanding by Windows programs.

There are many text files created during the live of DOS. Unfortunately that files can't be read in Windows because their characters have OEM format. Oem to Ansi converter inside Useful File Utilities allows to solve such problem. So we launch Useful File Utilities and perform the following steps:

1) Firstly, we need to select files which we want to convert. That's can be done by using right button of the mouse or pressing direction buttons and SPACE. The selected files will be printed in red color.

2) Then we need to choose "OEM<->ANSI converter" in the "Plug-ins" menu. If "OEM<->ANSI converter" is absent in the list of plug-ins it need to be downloaded and installed. - "Download OEM<->ANSI converter ".

3) A plug-in "OEM<->ANSI converter" will be shown on the screen.

4) Then we need to select an option "OEM to ANSI" and press to the "Start" button. Operation will be started.

5) Main window of the program will be shown after operation finished.
